I really enjoyed this post. Thanks for the reminder to pray for the Christian players’ opportunity this weekend, as well as their walk with Christ, and their safety during the game. God bless! :-)

  2. Very true. Thank you pastor Bob for reminding us that when we don’t win, we should take that as an opportunity to build character.

Winning or loosing in life if done with God in the Spirit – will glorify God providing we’re faithful – and isn’t that what it’s all about glorifying God in our Life – It’s funny that I draw closer to him more in my failures than in the victories – i still haven’t figured out why – thanks pastor praying for you right now! – G

    Pastor Bob -
I enjoyed this clip on character and would just like to add one point – the characteristics we choose to embrace are our “mark” as Christians. The greek root of the word characteristic means “a stamping tool.” God “stamps” us with his characteristics and it is up to us to ensure that mark, or stamp, is what is visible on the outside, no matter what our circumstances.

    Excellent points Pastor Bob!
You are so right about the enemy coming after us with even higher intensity when we proclaim our commitment to Christ! Thank you for encouraging us to pray for our Christian Role models. I so much admire what Tim Tebow has been able to achieve On & Off the football field, at such a young age to advance the causes of our Savior! We should ALL Pray for Tim’s continued success and that the enemy be kept far away from him, even if you don’t belong to The Gator Nation!

Great message Pastor Bob! This is something that I have begun to express to my oldest son and will be continuing to reinforce to him during his baseball season. That we must thank God for the talents he has given us and every opportunity to display them, even when losing.

    God Bless!

  9. The Book, “Season of Life”, is a story about Joe Ehrmann, a former NFL football star. He devoted his life to teaching boys “precepts of building men.” Joe taught and lived his faith. This is a good book for teachers, coaches, parents and students.
